When it comes to plastic, everyone is very familiar with it. From children's toys to instrument containers, from computer casings to car parts, from toothbrushes to aircraft parts, plastic products are everywhere in our lives.
Injection molding is the most commonly used method in plastic processing. This method is applicable to all thermoplastics and some thermosetting plastics, and the quantity of plastic products manufactured is lower than other molding methods. As one of the main tools for injection molding, injection molds have low levels of quality accuracy, manufacturing cycle, and production efficiency during the injection molding process. While directly affecting product quality, output, cost, and product updates, they also determine the responsiveness and speed of enterprises in market competition.
During the production process, plastic produced through different injection molds is often welded. So, what are the methods for welding plastic toys?
1、 Welding by ultrasonic welding machine
The ultrasonic welding machine uses high-frequency mechanical energy to soften or melt the thermoplastics at the joint.
When the pressure of the connecting part is fixed, and the frequency is usually through ultrasonic vibration of 20-40 kHz, the transducer converts the high-power vibration signal into corresponding mechanical energy. If necessary contact interfaces of welded plastic parts are added, high heat is generated at the moment of intense friction at the joint of the welded parts, and molecules are alternately fused to obtain the welding effect.
Ultrasonic welding process is fast, welding time is less than 1 second, and automation is easy. Plastic toy manufacturers can use automatic ultrasonic welding to improve production efficiency and help enterprises transform and upgrade.
2、 Hot plate machine welding
Characteristics of plastic toy hot plate welding machine:
Simple and suitable for welding between large areas of plastic. Quickly soften the two sides that need to be welded using an electric heating plate. After removing the electric heating plate, use pressure to fuse the plastic on both sides and cool to complete the welding.
Disadvantages: Long cycle, easy adhesion of plastic to the electric heating plate, difficult cleaning, and high pollution
3、 Hot air welding
Features: Lightweight, but difficult to operate.
The hot air melts the same material welding wire at the weld seam, completing the welding.
4、 Pulse welding
Crimp two thin films and use nickel chromium alloy wire to achieve instantaneous heat completion welding.
